Howdy, my name is Chris Svec, welcome to the internet. Here you’ll find my thoughts on embedded systems, firmware, software, hardware, and the business that drives it all.
I’m an engineering leader, embedded software developer, husband, father, dog owner, coffee addict, and fan of the Oxford comma.
I work for iRobot just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, where I make robots. They don’t make other robots. Yet.
I began my career at AMD doing computer architecture and performance modeling & analysis for x86 processors. It was a cool mixture of hardware and software engineering. I worked on AMD’s first quad-core design, among other things.
I have a Master’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, both from Purdue University (Go Boilers!). I focused on computer architecture and systems software, and was able to do a lot of teaching as well.
I also play bass guitar and tennis, though rarely at the same time.
You can email me at svec@ this site if you feel so inclined.
Oh, and I don’t speak for my employer, their subsidiaries, partners, enemies, acquaintances, or long lost relatives. My words are my own, and I am solely responsible for them.
